[VIDEO] Dog Blocks Traffic and Stops Car to Get Help For Owner Having a Seizure

When Haley Moore from Ottawa, Canada, was out walking the family pooch through her neighborhood last week, she had an idea that the dog was about to save her life.

Moore and her dog, Clover, set out one morning for their daily walk when the woman suddenly became to seize, dropping to the ground while convulsing. A neighbors security camera caught the entire incident on camera, which shows Clover immediately checking on her owner and then running into the middle of the road while barking at an on-coming car.

Clover, a one-and-a-half-year-old Maremma mix, stopped Dryden Oatway, who immediately went to Haley’s aid once he realized what the dog was alerting him to. He called an ambulance while the dog flagged down another passerby to assist. Speaking of the incident to CTV NEWS, Oatway shared:

“It was really impressive, the dog actually blocked my way. She kind of backed into the road to block my truck. The whole time she was backing down the street she had eyes on [Haley], didn’t look away from her. She kept her distance from me but made sure her owner was okay and that was amazing.”

Daniel Pillon was driving down the street in his Jeep when he saw a big white dog standing in the street, barking violently at his vehicle.

“Immediately I just stopped and I jumped out of the Jeep and I asked Dryden if everything was okay and he was like, “I don’t know, she fell,”” Danielle Pilon said.

If Clover’s actions weren’t incredible enough, while Oatway (21) and Pillon were tending to Haley, Clover took off back towards home to alert the rest of the family that Moore was in trouble. Haley’s father, Randall Moore, recalled the moment he realized something was wrong with his daughter:

“When I got a knock on the door from the neighbors, they were frantic and our dog Clover was barking like crazy.”

When they arrived at Haley’s side, she was being tended to by paramedics.

“All I remember is waking up in the ambulance and being really confused; just like what is going on,” Haley shared with CTV NEWS.

The seizure was a first for Haley, and doctors are unsure what brought it about. But the young woman is comforted knowing she has such a faithful and capable companion watching over her, should another seizure occur in the future.

“If this ends up happening again, I feel 10 times safer and I know she will be there for me,” Haley said. “You know how good animals are and she’s a really amazing dog and I love her to death.”
